:::The "Cam No Go" Syndrome... Part 1::.

Cameroon played a friendly match with Germany this weekend and thank God it was just a draw. The field was colorful, painted with the Cameroonian national colors green, red and yellow. The atmosphere was not only filled with cheerful colors, sounds of African drums filled the air. Beautiful
African babes, moving to the rhythm of the drums. 

It was not the “lady dance” but like Fela, I call it the „fire dance".  

 Cam see something!

 

Back to the dressing code, it was haut couture à la Camerounaise.

Many German spectators were no longer interested in the game, their point of focus was the Cameroonian fan base. They were amazed and carried away by the Cameroonian  Spirit.

 „Stimmung"

It was a draw, just a friendly match without much importance attached.... Or was there. The Cameroonian fans were so happy... And to many, the FIFA World Cup  2014 is already ours.

Anyway, back to the point of focus. The German commentator made a comment;

"Es gibt fast 17 Thousand Kameruner in Deutschland"

And a bell rang in my head.... ding ding ding

„Trouble dey sleep yanga go wake up am , na weti e dey fine.... Na palava"

Fela kuti.

17 thousand Cameroonians in our adopted fatherland. This is just the official digits. So I decided to make a research and guess what.....

Let's start analyzing oh.... No be small thing.

Cameroon is among the African nations with the highest number of intellectuals.

" na today you know.... We no dull at all"

Cameroonians in Germany are not lazy in anyway. They don't fall under that category. They are vicious, conscious and focused. Now there are professionals, those who studied; universities, Fachochschule, vocational Training etc. Many, who could not study because of many different reasons, are not sleeping either. They work in many different domains.

The thing is many are always confronted with this question;

 „when are you going home, what are your plans?"

And I have never seen any Cameroonian give a concrete answer to that question.

I know some of you are asking the question right now;

“Thelma how about you?”

So let me answer.

I am a  child of the universe, a free spirit, i move like the wave; home is where I feel at peace.  We are children of this lovely world, boundaries are just demarcations they should have no influence on us.
