::: Live from Mundenhof Freiburg:::

What a colorful event Today. In spite of the bad weather people still came out in numbers to honor this occasion. It was wet, foggy and grey, a normal day to stay back home and lazy around.

::: Don't show your tears! :::

Image
“Swallow it in girl, just swallow it in. Don’t let them see your tears” The weekend is drawing near again good people. Like most of you, I look forward to it too. This weekend I thought about the notion of “Big girls don’t cry” and also “Real men don’t shed tears” I really think our society today is gradually sinking its roots and sapping from the energy of this notion. I know, not all tears are caused by negative emotions. Tears are a way of expressing how we feel. It is an explosion of powerful emotions. Now let’s talk about crying as a way of expressing pain and frustration. Charles Dickens in his book “The Great Expectation” said:

::: There was the Indomitable Lions:::

By, Emile Tabu Ojong, a.k.a Sir Tabu, a.k.a Thelastoneleft It was an easy pick to title this piece in line with Chinua Achebe’s „There was a country“ because, as we have witnessed things fall apart for the once revered Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, it is hard not to draw a parallel with the general trend of events that have transformed this once prosperous pride of Africa in to a failed state. Cameroon football and the Indomitable Lions as an institution is just a microcosm and a direct representation of what obtains in the country and its socio-political set-up. It becomes therefore, a tough ask to try to understand the failures of the Indomitable Lions without a contextual appreciation of the bigger picture, which is the state of decay in the modus operandi of the country it represents.    However, as the world is caught up in the Brazuca fever and, Cameroonians and fans of Cameroon football hide their face in shame while trying to make any sense of the embarrassing sh

::: Thank You:::

My dearest, special, readers. I salute you all! Permit me to use this opportunity of “no special occasion“ to say Thank You! You see this blog started like a joke and to many it was going to last just for a month, considering my tight schedule and all that. But here we are today, it has been months now and we are still learning. I guess you all know the story of the mosquito and the ear from Chinua Achebe? Noooooooo….! I be know! Ok here it is. Let me refresh your mind. Mr Mosquito, had asked Miss Ear to marry him, whereupon Ear fell on the floor in uncontrollable laughter. “How much longer do you think you will live?” she asked. “You are already a skeleton.” Mosquito went away humiliated, and any time he passed her way he told the Ear that “ I dey still live oh”. So this is just a shout out to all you lovely people. From the bottom of my heart, a sincere Thank you, for reading the thoughts we bring forward to you all once in a while. To me blogging is a pass

::: The Indomitable lions of Cameroon: Still alive or dead?:::

Image
A thousand times they got us excited, Inspired, awakened, honored. And a thousand and one times they let us down.  Now the question goes thus:  The Indomitable lions of Cameroon: Still alive or dead? Just a couple of years ago if you were to ask any Cameroonian what he/she thinks about his/her national team, the answer would have been obvious:

::: Invitation from Dr.Sylvie Nantcha :::

Death seems always far away and at the same time so near! Our dear sister, friend, mentor and fellow Freiburger, Sylvie Nantcha lost her dad a couple of months back. It’s a moment of grief for the entire family and also a moment to celebrate the life of their wonderful father, grandfather, brother, and husband. Be a brother or sister in deed and don’t miss this event.   Let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star, and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life. ~John Muir   Herzliche Einladung! Sylvie Nantcha und ihre Familie, Arline Djeumo und die Familie Djeumo, S.E. Jean-Marc Mpay, Botschafter von Kamerun in Deutschland, Verwandten und Freunden, laden Sie herzlich zur Trauerfeier ihres Vaters, Schwiegervaters, Großvaters und Mitbürgers Dj

:::Happy Weekend:::

Thank God it’s Friday. It’s Friday. I can taste the weekend. After a normal hustling day, I decided to take a walk. My direction was the city center. The familiar atmosphere brought a smile to my face. Busy people walking up and down, going about their activities. Music from different instruments and artist , from I don’t know where, got the ears excited and the eyes very active Then suddenly like a flash, I sighted something new, extraordinary. A black sister sitting on a chair, and in front of her another chair but empty. Written behind it….   "Tired Please sit down" She was relaxed and composed, uttered no word, in the busy street. I was like Oh my God, and wanted for no good reason walk away as fast as possible…Yeah I was embarrassed. I put on my dark glasses and turned the opposite direction. But then I stopped and thought; “Was art for a selected few?” So I turned around with the intension of walking up to her and siting on that chair. My i
