:::The Better Life...:::

The search for a better life…is not a one man pursuit. It is a global thing. The race for greener pastures has its woes…!

We all see it on TV, we hear it on the radio and some read about it from newspapers and social medias; the number of people risking their lives as a result of poverty in developing countries is on the rise despite all the setbacks and risks on this journey.  Melilla and Lampedusa etc.

I have heard many did make it in Europe, Asia, and America. I have seen lots of people fulfilled and satisfied that they took the risk. At the same time…many have perished in the course of this struggle. At one stage, it does not matter what kind of visa u crossed the ocean with…the bottom line is…in our daily struggle we are all searching for a better life.

Some have a blurred imagination of what the reasons may be to warrant such tough decision. To undergo such inhumane conditions, with no guarantee that the goals we seek will be attained, that our newly found life will be that of bliss and harmony.
In the course of my research, I had an opportunity to talk to three categories of people from different countries. I just wanted to know why we Africans take so much risk to cross the ocean. Why do some find it difficult to go back home after their studies…why why why?
The first person looked at me with so much bitterness in his eyes and said,
“If people lost their lives this way, it’s the fault of our political system and institutions”.
And the second person said,
“It’s the fault of our colonial masters. Their policy left the African nations with a greedy set of rulers”
The last person said,
“Migration is a normal human instinct. No human being is illegal; we are free citizens of planet earth. Therefore boundaries and laws should not be chains to make people look like fugitives"

To be continued...
What is your oppinion ?

Ps: I really appreciate your comments!
Love you all.
