::: Cameroonian Artists silent in the face of Crisis:::

Role models!
Who are role models?
You see role models can be found in every walks of life.
Role models are people we look up to, because they inspire us.
Today am looking at Cameroonian Musicians.
In the face of the crisis at hand in Cameroon, some have been silent, afraid they might  take sides, afraid to say what they think.
Many hide under the banner of:
“I am apolitical”…
“I don’t delve into matters with political background”…
Least I forget Art is politics and according to Aristotle, human beings are by nature political, because nature, which does nothing in vain, has equipped us with speech, which enables us to communicate moral concepts such as justice which are formative of the household and city-state.
So my dear Cameroonian Artist remaining silent in the face of injustice is the same as supporting it.
On the debate if music , a sub-genre of arts, should be or better said, is political or not , is a topic for another day, but if you want to know my point of view, then here you go:
“So long as music is used to express our inner selves, it becomes automatically a political tool”

Lady Ponce stood up in the middle of her concert on the 21st of January, at La Cigalein Paris  and asked her audience to pray for Bamenda.
Like many, I was impressed, not only of the fact that she acknowledged the crisis in Bamenda but also because she believed, she was affected as well. She said she was “Bamenda”, and the crowd responded with a sense of Unity and Respect:

“Je suis Bamenda”

« Mbembia  muntula moto Nye pun Maladi «
«  Ba Lalo Kwala tè.. »
I love you Richard Bona, your humor, your humble nature,” joie de vivre” and your talent.
You make me proud of my Cameroonian root.

Magasco…. my Bamenda Boy
« Wule Bang Bang.. »
“Ngone bang ne”
He has been open about his feelings and does not hesitate to express his view on the issues at hand.

“One and indivisible but divisible with Roads and Internet. That's some sweet Unity”

My dear Cameroonian Artists stop taking the backseat. Stand up, your contributions or points of view are not insignificant. Many look up to you. Robert Kennedy in his “Ripple of Hope” speech said:
“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”

Robert Kennedy (June 6th, 1966)
