::: Land in Sicht ... Land in sight :::
Seeking
Asylum is hard business. The chances of being granted asylum are slim. One has
to survive all the same. It’s a hard struggle…the search for a “better life”
This is one
interesting real life story. A documentary; on Abdul, Brian und Farad’s search
for a “greener pasture, in the small town Belzig in the German region of
Brandenburg. Their imaginations clashes with reality. Sorry it’s in German.
Brian got
my interest because he is from Cameroon – he worked on a banana plantation in
Cameroon and considers himself a fighter. He suffers from the common
misconception that once you make it from Africa to Germany; you are already a
“made man”. The opposite is true, he says, and smiles without a sign of
self-pity, which is also how the entire film Land in Sicht looks at the
phenomenon of seeking asylum in Germany.
Try to
Watch it if you can. Don’t have an official link will do so when I have one.
For sure,
your mum did tell you, life was a bed of Roses…but if you forgot to listen to
the part she mentioned that roses do have thorns…then you are in deep s**t.
